The Sherwin-Williams Company Warehouse Operator in Cleveland, Ohio

This position has the responsibility of supporting the shipping and receiving team. Tasks of this position will include but are not limited to, picking orders from the warehouse, quality checking orders that have been picked from the warehouse, then packing those orders and preparing them to be shipped. As the packages are prepped for shipping a Warehouse Operator must have a solid understanding of the shipping systems to be able to assist in the shipping of outgoing packages as they are available. A Warehouse Operator will also be required to assist with the unloading of trucks that are making deliveries throughout the day and the loading of daily pickup vehicles for our outgoing packages. This aspect of the position will also require the verification of the quantity of materials received and the incoming shipments are received in good order. Another core function of a Warehouse Operator will be to assist in keeping the warehouse clean and organized and that products are restocked as necessary. Effective communication with the Warehouse Lead is vital in this regard when products are running low on inventory in specific locations so that the proper replenishment steps can be initiated to maintain proper inventory levels. This type of communication between all areas of the operation will also be critical in maintaining accurate inventory counts throughout the year. * Properly prepare all documents for orders being shipped. Examples include freight order paperwork, packing slip preparation, and local courier pickup and delivery scheduling. * Maintain and adhere to all current UPS and Fed Ex rules and regulations as they apply to Mail Center processing out outgoing shipments. * Execute all quality control checks that are needed throughout the operation. * Properly pick orders from the warehouse based on the packing slips provided, ensuring the correct item and quantity is picked for the order. * Assist with inventory counts as needed to ensure accuracy and timely replenishment. * Notify Lead/Supervisor of problems or potential problems as they occur. Formal Education & Certification High school graduate Knowledge & Experience Preferred 1 year experience working as a picker or packer in a Warehouse or Distribution Center Must have basic computer skills and be able to utilize a computer for QC, Shipping, and Inventory systems. Must be able to navigate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Personal Attributes/Physical Activities/Capabilities/Work Environment Able to perform the above listed essential duties in a satisfactory manner. Must be able to work under the pressure of meeting weekly and monthly mail closing schedules and deadlines. Must be quality conscious and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Physically capable of lifting a minimum of at least 40 lb. boxes of materials. Capable of standing and being on your feet for extended periods of time. Physically capable of loading and being able to push a flatbed cart weighing 100-125 lbs. to a staging area for courier pick-up. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel and management.
