Job Description:
The Scientist - Systems Engineering, Advanced Electronic Warfare position will be responsible for supporting technical execution of the Advanced EW product line, located in Clifton, NJ. The Scientist position will report to the Advanced EW, Systems Engineering Sr Manager.
The responsibilities will include providing technical direction to high priority programs in the Advanced EW product line, leading the architecture implementation of current pursuits, supporting customer briefings on the current program and additionally on new technology and where it can by applied. The position involves close collaboration with other L3H programs to ensure commonality in system designs and opportunity for growth where possible. The position will also provide coaching and development for the engineering staff.
Essential Functions:
Provide subject matter expert technical leadership, maintain customer communications, and be a technical authority representative for the Advanced EW organization
Understand customer mission, customer sets, drives technical strategy within the Systems Engineering Organization
Must be able to effectively interface with program management and customers
Lead / Supports new pursuits for the organization to include all phases of campaigns and proposal processes, serve as a technical leader for new pursuits.
Support/develop Technical Roadmaps and IRAD execution within the organization
Drives to ensure adoption of common architecture frameworks and prevent unique product implementation at proposal phase/concept design within the portfolio
Identifies opportunities for engineering improvements (e3) for people, process, and tools within the organization
Must have a strong set of core competencies including Problem Solving, Team Leadership, Strategic Thinking / Planning, Communication, IPT / Cross Functional Behavior, Accountability, Critical Thinking, and the highest level of Ethical Conduct.
Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
Physical Requirements (such as ability to lift up to 10 lbs.)
Up to 10% travel may be required

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Active Secret Security Clearance
Experience in an engineering leadership role, such as: Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead
Experience with Electronic Warfare Programs and/or products related to the Mission Systems platform(s) including but not limited to:
3U Open VPX Technology
Software Defined EW
Open Digital Receiver SW Architecture
Machine Learning
Direct RF Sampling technology
A-Kit Design and Modification
High Power Transmitter Design
Phased Array Antenna Systems
Electronic Countermeasures development for platform protection
Multi-LRU ECM subsystems
Preferred Additional Skills:
Electronic Warfare System mastery level knowledge and viewed as an expert
Experience or knowledge in the L3Harris and DoD Engineering processes
Experience interfacing with Electronic Warfare Officers, understanding needs and managing expectations
Experience on large scale Hardware / Software Engineering development efforts
Experience on large scale Hardware Environmental Qualification testing efforts
Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner, including executive presentations, Program updates with internal & external stakeholders, etc
Experience in Electronic Attack, Radar Systems, ELINT Systems, Multi-Sensor Fusion, and RF Systems
Familiarity with the future mission of the DoD with respect to Electronic Warfare
Experience in the System Design of Embedded System Architectures
Experience in the Digital Engineering, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), and System Simulation
Thorough understanding of Cyber Security best practices
Competency making decisions with imperfect and incomplete information
Demonstrated ability to deliver and sustain measurable results
Ability to coach, mentor and build relationships with external organizations
Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
