Job Details

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the RN is responsible for supporting all Physicians with the general medical administrative & programmatic oversight of all clients as it relates to medical compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current NYS RN.

Valid NYS Drivers’ License.

Behavioral health background preferred.

Job Requirements:

Duties:

1. Assures that all client’s medical files are in compliance with Agency and regulatory policies, practices and procedures, by reviewing all recovery care plans and ensures that documentation is complete.

2. Assist all physicians with provision of treatment as requested.

3. Complete prior-authorizations, observe urine screens of all clients, complete medical health assessments, and all other duties as required by the department.

4. Provide supportive counseling to assist in stabilization of clients.

5. Provide direction, supervision and assistance to LPN’s and program staff where there are medical concerns; including on call support where necessary.

6. Responds appropriately to crisis and emergency situations in order to ensure/secure the health and safety of the clients. Adheres to regulatory guidelines and follow-up by appropriate communication and documentation.

7. Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency.

8. Conducts other related Agency training as directed and within area of expertise.

9. Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers.

3. Working knowledge of behavioral health.

4. Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving and time management skills.

5. Recognition and understanding of the scope of practice according to the Nurse Practice Act.

6. Ability to learn electronic records and perform collateral documentation.
