POSITION SUMMARY

As a Fork Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for the plantwide repairs and preventative maintenance of the fork truck fleet. You must ensure all job duties are performed in compliance with safety, health, quality, and environmental requirements.

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on fork trucks and other vehicles with minimal supervision

• Adjust, install, repair, and rebuild engines, carburetors, pumps, brakes, masts, hydraulic and transmissions

• Troubleshoot, provide minor repair, or replace any mechanical equipment

• Replace simple electrical devices such as motors, fuses, and switches

• Keep work area and shop clean

• Follow plant safety practices and demonstrate understanding and proper operation of equipment and tool

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and 1+ year experience of forklift maintenance or equivalent experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related field

OR

• Technical school certification or associate degree in a technical field

Other

• Must be comfortable working weekends. Schedule is Saturday, Sunday, Monday and every other Thursday 7am to 7pm.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $33.21 an hour for Maintenance C rate. The pay progression plan follows: Maintenance B $41.17, Maintenance A $43.16. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
