Description

Under general direction of the Facility Maintenance Division Manager , the Facilities Asset Project Manager manages and coordinates asset management plan s and construction and improvement projects within the Facility Maintenance division and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Facility Maintenance Division Manager.

Principal Duties

  • Responsible for maintaining the asset management system and the methodology to manage the maintenance and the life cycle of the Facility Maintenance assets.

  • Provide daily hands-on management and oversight of all Facility Maintenance managed construction activities and improvement projects; including development and overseeing estimates, bid specs, purchasing, bid, contract award, construction and close out.

  • Maintain and update the department ’ s Asset Management Plan annually , by using the departments asset management software.

  • Serve as the department liaison for assigned projects with other divisions, departments, and outside agencie s to include but not limited to contractors, engineers, architects and other stakeholders.

  • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend, within departmental policy, appropriate service levels.

  • P articipate in the development and administration of assigned Division’s annual budget; participate in the forecast of funds n eeded for equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments.

  • Gather and interpret statistical and fiscal data; prepare and submit a variety of reports .

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in planning , Construction Management or related field and five (5) years’ experience with construction projects and one (1) year developing and managing asset management plans; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Valid State of Texas Driver’s License

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent customer service skills

Basic knowledge of city and state code and regulations

Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures

Knowledge of construction materials and methods

A bility to read and interpret construction plans and schematics

Proficient skills in computer usage ex: word, excel, and outlook

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Ability to respond as needed to Emergency Response

Preferred: Project management exper ience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Drug Screening: Due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this position, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment or pre-placement drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined in City policy.

Additional Criminal Background Screening Required: In addition to the standard pre-employment criminal background check, individuals receiving a conditional offer for this position shall be subject to a fingerprint- based background screening due to the required access to secured buildings and/or secure data systems.
