DESCRIPTION OF WORK In the role of a Medical Records Assistant within the Department of Corrections, your primary duties will involve the meticulous preparation, classification, and abstraction of medical reports specific to the institution you are assigned to. This will include the creation of medical records for each individual inmate, organizing and filing medical reports within the inmate medical records system, as well as compiling all medical records for seamless transfer when necessary.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in assisting with data entry tasks related to the medical department, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and maintained. Your attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive medical information with confidentiality will be essential in this position. As a Medical Records Assistant, you will be a key player in maintaining the integrity and organization of medical records within the correctional facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,003.00 (before taxes). Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of clerical experience in a medical records department of a hospital, or ambulatory acute medical care setting or a licensed nursing facility, which has included six months of experience under the general direction or oversight by a registered Medical Records Technician or Administrator; and graduation from high school; or Graduation from a medical secretarial or medical records program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
