Robert Half Staff Accountant in Collierville, Tennessee

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Collierville, Tennessee. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our general ledger, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger by preparing necessary journal entries

• Analyze balance sheet and P& L accounts, comparing actuals to historical trends, budgets, and/or forecasts

• Review system integration batches for accuracy before posting to the general ledger system

• Prepare account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness

• Reconcile intercompany transactions and account balances

• Oversee physical inventory and/or cycle count processes to ensure the general ledger accurately reflects the value of physical inventory

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as necessary

• Provide support and appropriate documentation for annual year-end audits and mid-year reviews

• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Oracle to perform daily tasks

• Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize historical trends and perform variance analysis

• Maintain confidentiality of financial information. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries and assist with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Commitment to continuous professional development in the field of accounting

• Understanding of applicable local and national accounting and financial regulations.
