Our Cardiac Sonographers play a crucial role in helping us deliver the best possible care to our young patients. This position performs clinical echocardiographic studies for congenital heart disease on patients ranging from neonatal to adult. We are currently looking for Cardiac Sonographers to join our team located at Briargate Outpatient Specialty Clinics, Colorado Springs. Available Shifts: Part time, 28 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits. Shifts will be scheduled on variable days between the hours of 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, plus after hours and weekend call for the hospitals. This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100 miles or greater. PRN, variable hours. PRN staff are scheduled to work on an "as needed" basis and are not guaranteed hours. Not eligible for benefits. Hourly Salary: Compensation is determined by years of experience. You will be placed into the appropriate job title based on your experince and qualifications: The Cardiac Sonographer Associate pay range is 32.47 to 48.70 The Cardiac Sonographer pay range is 35.80 to 53.70 The Cardiac Sonographer Senior pay range is 39.47 to 59.20 Make an Impact The Minimum Qualifications to be a Cardiac Sonographer Associate are: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree and or graduate of an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology Program is required. Experience: Preferred specialized course work (or equivalent) in pediatrics. Certification(s): Requires national certification in the area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) Non pediatric certified candidates must complete pediatric certification within 12-18 months of hire as approved by manager. BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire The Minimum Qualifications to be a Cardiac Sonographer are: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: One year of relevant experience Equivalency: Completion of a two-year college program with emphasis on imaging modalities or other associated medical program; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registration required. Certification(s): Pediatric Registry required within one year upon hire; Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire The Minimum Qualifications to be a Cardiac Sonographer Senior are: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Specialized course work (or equivalent) in a 2-year college program with emphasis on imaging modalities or other associated medical program. Experience: Five years of experience in the use of Motion-Mode (M-Mode), 2D, Pulse Wave (PW), Continuous Wave (CW), and color flow Doppler techniques. Certification(s): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credentialing with Pediatric Echocardiography Registry (PE) through ARDMS credentialing required OR Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) credentialing required BLS/CPR from the A erican Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire Job Highlights Performs clinical echocardiographic (echo) studies, newborns to adults, for congenital heart disease with a moderate degree of difficulty or complexity requiring knowledge of hemodynamics, physiology, and congenital heart disease. Completes echocardiography studies strictly following departmental sequence and protocol. Completes Doppler studies and obtains appropriate color flow and spectral analysis Doppler data including advanced analysis of hemodynamics. Prepares accurate preliminary summaries of the echocardiography findings for cardiologist interpretation providing documentation of observed echo findings; reviews completed studies with cardiologist Provides assistance to new sonographers, fellows, and visiting sonographers. Tracks and documents ongoing training and self-study for quality improvement; maintains a registry of credentials and certifications. Assists with organizing and developing quality assurance programs.
