OC Solutions Center Specialist

Summary Description:

Assist Solution Center members in supporting staff, faculty and students by providing technical assistance and resolving day-to-day issues.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues using a variety of contact methods, such as phone, email, chat, and in-person. Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff in how to complete a task or solve a problem when contacting the Solution Center. Assist with device checkouts using the Koha program, and reset each device upon return. Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software packages and operating systems on college owned computers, including Macintosh and Windows-based PCs

Additional Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

High School graduate plus a minimum of two years of related experience; excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; a strong collaborative working style and ability to work well within a team; understanding of both Macintosh and Windows platforms; ability to adapt to new situations and technologies and to thrive in an unstructured environment, and ability to regularly lift and move computer equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, A+ certification; ability and desire to learn quickly and continuously; experience in an academic setting, and familiarity/experience with image creation and deployment software and/or tracking calls using the SDP ticketing software
