Job Overview

The Occupational Therapist I provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, treatment, follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatients and/or outpatients referred to the OT department. Provides supervision for therapy aides/assistants and students with specific patients or tasks as appropriate. Provides continuous consultation and education to families. The Occupational Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Qualifications

EDUCATION -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field of study. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE - Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment Preferred qualifications: expertise in assisting with feeding and swallowing challenges spanning from birth to 21 years of age

Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical servic 2. Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cul ural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. 4. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets. 5. Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital. 6.
