Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Networks – Network Engineer III (24-425) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
As a Network Development Engineer supporting build-out and deployments to the operational environment as necessary, the candidate will work within an agile scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.
Essential Functions:
Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network to operational sites
Must be able to travel to alternate work locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, etc., to execute job duties such as deployments, perform network installations, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel

Basic Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 5 years experience; 9 years experience instead of a degree or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with 3 years experience.
DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required to start.
Proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design , development , and testing methodologies .
Must understand:
OSI Model
TCP/IP
Routing protocols BGP and OSPF
Must have network traffic analysis , diagnostic , and troubleshooting skills .
Must have firewall experience, especially with:
Juniper
Fortinet
Palo Alto
Required experience in:
UDP multicast
SONET
MSPP
VLANs
GRE Tunnels
TCP/IP network designs
Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching routing ( Juniper, Cisco ), WAN optimizer , TACLANEs , and optical transport equipment.
Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
Must understand standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
Familiarization with virtualization technologies:
NFV
SDWAN
VMware
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and active TS/SCI is highly desired.

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:
Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
