Lockheed Martin Software Systems Engineer - Software Framework Integrator III in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description: Lockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting-edge defense technology, is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO or King of Prussia, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that protect and serve our nation’s defense.

In this position, you will play a key role in testing software as part of an Agile Development Team working on military satellite communications (SATCOM) Ground systems. We are seeking an experienced Software Systems Engineer to help lead the integration of our Framework (FW). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating roadmap updates with subcontractors, ensuring seamless integration, and supporting the onboarding of other applications onto the framework. Key Responsibilities:

▪️ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the onboarding of other applications onto the framework

▪️ Coordinate with subcontractors to update the framework roadmap, aligning with project timelines and objectives.

▪️ Supporting integration, testing, and deployment of the software releases.

▪️ Develop and maintain technical documentation, including integration guides, test plans, and deployment procedures.

▪️ Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential integration risks, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.

▪️ Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the framework integration process.

▪️ Support functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software requirements.

▪️ Support test planning and execution activities for Customer defined system requirements.

▪️ Support customer demonstrations and integrations events (some travel required).

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualification:

▪️ Previous Systems Engineering and integration experiences commensurate with position

▪️ Experiences in at least one or more of the following, DevSecOps, and/or Service-Based architectures, Digital Engineering tools, e.g. Cameo, Doors, other

▪️ Knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle in an agile environment, e.g. design, development testing, deployment

▪️ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and subcontractors.

▪️ Background in SW and systems integration

▪️ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

Desired Skills:

▪️ Background in protective communications

▪️ Cyber security methodologies and practices

▪️ Experience with Agile methodologies

▪️ Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes/Docker).

▪️ Knowledge of web-based software application development and integration

▪️ Experience with model based system engineering

▪️ Experience with Systems/Software architecture

▪️ Proven experience as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, customers, or partners, with a strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationships.

▪️ Interface Control Document (ICD) development

▪️ Test planning and execution – especially automated integration testing and requirements verification.

▪️ Systems thinking skills and behaviors.

▪️ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project management software like Jira.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
