Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our team as a Space Test and Training Network Engineer. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a talented team, supporting mission-critical infrastructure for the United States Space Force (USSF) through the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Integrated Program Office (IPO).

As a Space Test and Training Network Engineer, you will provide essential support for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of the USSF's long-term test and training network capabilities. You will be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, analysis, execution, and reporting of network acquisitions specifically designed to support space systems testing and training. This role requires integrated engineering support across various facets of network infrastructure, from design and acquisition to fielding and sustainment, with a focus on both on-premises and off-premises networks.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in network planning, fiber design, and infrastructure automation, as well as expertise in developing proprietary tools or utilizing commercial solutions to assess and evaluate network architectures. This position requires strong skills in implementing fiber design engineering standards, as well as strategic communication for project deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Core responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering network solutions, including topological design, network synthesis, and realization. You will create detailed network documentation, evaluate existing and partner-produced network designs, and ensure that all networks align with cybersecurity regulations and policies. This role also involves managing the end-to-end design, construction, and automation of both physical and wireless networks for test and training, ensuring seamless connectivity across devices and systems.

As a key contributor to infrastructure improvement, you will identify and implement solutions to enhance network functionality, streamline repetitive tasks, and collaborate with vendors and team members to integrate advanced technologies. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, analyze system functionality, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. This role also entails evaluating vendor network performance and advising on best practices to maintain seamless network operations across USSF's critical infrastructure.

Compensation Minimum: $175,000

Compensation Maximum: $190,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Hold and maintain a current Top-Secret Clearance, SCI-eligible, with the ability to secure additional security accesses as required
  • Over 10 years of hands-on, relevant experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically in network engineering and infrastructure support
  • Significant experience within a System Program Office (SPO) or Program Management Office (PMO), focused on delivering network solutions for DoD projec
  • Proven expertise in the design, development, and delivery of complex networks and processes, encompassing topological design, network synthesis, and network realization
  • Skilled in creating detailed network documentation for customer environments, with a demonstrated ability to review and refine vendor or partner-produced documentation
  • Extensive experience in evaluating network effectiveness and suitability to meet project requirements and operational needs
  • Experienced in working closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure network compliance with relevant DoD regulations and security policies
  • Strong background in developing, planning, and managing acquisit ons for a range of products and services, providing end-to-end acquisition support
  • Recognized as a leader in the field, with exceptional analytical skills and a successful track record in complex network engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams of leaders and colleagues in both physical and virtual environments, ensuring seamless collaboration with government and contractor personnel
  • Capable of performing autonomously, seamlessly engaging with team members and senior leadership with minimal supervision
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential challenges
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a DoD environment and to synthesize complex information clearly.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Required to work on-site full-time, with the flexibility to travel up to 25% as needed for project requirements
