Summary Description: Reporting to the Assoc. Director of the Butler Center, the Student Success Programs Coordinator provides student-centered support, programming, and mentoring as part of The Butler Center's (TBC) mission to provide an equitable and inclusive educational environment; provides support to first-generation, low-income (FGLI) and undocumented students; serves as campus liaison/point of contact to scholar affiliate programs including Daniels Fund and Denver Scholarship Foundation, provides mentorship and advising to students participating in scholar affiliate programs, provides oversight, leadership and training of peer mentors and student employees of the Butler Center, fosters an empowering space for identity development, social justice, and equity for students of various intersecting identities (including gender, sexual orientation, ability, citizenship status, nationality

Anticipated Salary Range: $22.30 to $26.75 per hour

Responsibilities:

Lead and provide oversight of Student Success Programs including scholar affiliate programs (Daniels Fund and Denver Scholarship Foundation), Undocumented Student Support including Thrive Fellowship Program, and first-generation and low-income student initiatives. Oversee the development, assessment and training of peer mentors in conjunction with other TBC professional staff. Mentor, support, and advocate for students from marginalized racial/ethnic groups (students of color), low-income, first-generation and international students toward a healthy, productive, and successful experience at CC. Supervise up to three student employees; provide guidance on work practices and ethics; manage schedules, hours of work, assign and follow up on work assignments and opportunities for growth. Collaborate with the Administrative and Program Specialist in the hiring of TBC student employees. Work to create an inclusive environment that is respectful of religious, cultural, racial, ethnic, sexual and economic diversity and welcoming to all; respond with compassion and exercise discretion in times of individual or campus crisis; foster calm in the midst of chaos, comfort to those in need, and courage to act in challenging times.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 3 years (or a Master's degree plus 1 year) of student-facing professional experience to include working in an environment that fosters diversity, equity and inclusion and sensitivity to diversity, marginalized student issues, race/ethnicity, sexuality, ability, class, gender, religion, etc. Strong understanding of and demonstrated commitment to antiracism and diversity, equity and inclusion in the campus comm nity. Working knowledge of racial identity development models and theories as well as student development theory. Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity national origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity. Prior student supervision experience to include mentoring and coaching. Experience in administering and supporting established programs. Proficiency with software programs to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS Teams; maintaining database systems.
