Electronics Technician

Description:

Performs various duties under supervision, including the fabrication, testing, and modification of complex electrical and electronic circuits and equipment. Proficient in using hand tools, test equipment, and computer-operated test equipment. Prepares electronic and electromechanical equipment for integration into system configurations. Installs and interfaces equipment according to electrical diagrams and schematics. Fabricates various types of cables and cable assemblies. Installs cables and cable assemblies using written and accepted techniques, including the provision of cable service loops and proper cable routing. Performs soldering and surface mount soldering in the assembly of electronic equipment. Performs operational tests and complex electrical and electronic equipment adjustments using standard test setups. Reads and interprets schematics drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring lists, waveforms, and diagnostics results; Makes complex repairs, including replacement of component parts; Fabricates and assembles complex components with instructions from higher level technicians and engineers; Maintains lab records as appropriate. Assists other higher-level technicians and engineers in their work consistent with their own background and training; Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduate of a two-year accredited electronics school or equivalent vocational training from either the military or private sector with two years of directly related work experience. In lieu of formal education, six years directly related experience.

MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE.

Additional Qualifications:

Strong electronics background. Electronic theory background that enables a person to analyze, test, and repair complex electronics. Working knowledge of various test equipment Soldering experience, surface mount experience, desired Wiring, and cable fabrication experience. Ability to operate a variety of tools, including hand and power. Ability to assimilate data quickly and resourcefully, learn from mistakes, and work well in an unstructured situation. Capable of meeting customer demands while working on multiple projects with various deadlines.

Basic Compensation:

$52,000 -$85,000

This range is for the central coast of California only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
