Mississippi Employer LPN in Columbia, Mississippi
The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is responsible and accountable to the Director of Nurses. The LPN is delegated assignments by the RN to achieve quality resident care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct resident care as evidenced, but not limited to, resident care documentation, direct observation, and resident assessment. The LPN shall demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality resident care. The LPN shall have the ability to appropriately read and comprehend datas collected which reflects the resident's status and interprets the data needed to identify each resident's level of need and care.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates ability to oversee C.N.A.'s and ensures that all residents needs are met and privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to provide care and administration of medications and treatments in a timely manner as required by policy.
- Demonstrates appropriate behavior both at work and away from facility that will positively reflect on profession as well as facility and organization. Behavior must coincide with facility's Code of Conduct as well as the State Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrates proactive, self-disciplined approach to ensuring all diagnostic results related to medication administration is obtained prior to medication administration to maintain resident safety.
Education and Skills:
Graduate of recognized non-online LPN program required.

Certification/Licensure:
Must hold a current license to practice nursing in state of Mississippi, be certified in the expanded rold of an LPN or be eligible for certification.
