Job Summary:

The MES Data Engineer works across multiple functions of the business to ensure Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is established to support production and business needs. The ideal candidate understands manufacturing flows, quality systems, standard work/works instructions, and other manufacturing support tools/systems. They will have input building and enhancing the MES systems and processes and leading testing activity. They will also help lead testing and training activities.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and Maintenance of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

  • Map business processes and material flows into an MES Factory Model

  • Define and set standards for MES flows, physical flows and MES item enrichment

  • Serve as an in-house domain expert on the company's MES system and the integration of manufacturing operations, quality, and materials, information into MES

  • Collaborate effectively with business users to define and maintain need process flows, work instructions, and quality information needs.

  • Map business processes into an MES Factory Model, define appropriate objects needed in MES system

  • Daily maintenance of item enrichment in Apriso (MES), Oracle (ERP) and other manufacturing systems

  • Understand and correct product BOM (Bill of Materials) for correctness and structure

  • Lead sprint testing and define testing scripts for system enhancements.

  • Lead and develop training activities for MES and other manufacturing systems

  • Lead VAVE and NPD project work and enrichment for the MES Team

  • Work with manufacturing, materials, and engineering to evaluate material and information routings.

  • Write Standard work pertaining to MES use and MES data items

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering / Manufacturing Technology or equivalent required

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience working with MES tools.

  • Engineering or engineering tech experience required

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Work independently in a high pace work environment

  • Adaptable - Adjusts to changing Demands, priorities, and objectives

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple, varied tasks simultaneously

  • Working knowledge of and expertise in the integration of MES & ERP systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Oracle database platforms

  • Experience with Trane manufacturing processes and methodology is a plus!

  • Prior experience in implementing and/or supporting MES or Manufacturing operations management systems required

  • Developing and managing various integrations (internal and external) to the MES system is required

  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, quality management, work order process flow, and BOM management is required

  • Prior experience in implementing and/or supporting MES or Manufacturing operations management systems prefered

  • Able to travel domestically as needed.
