Amentum Software Licensing Specialist in Columbia, South Carolina
We are looking for a Software Licensing Specialist to join our team and to administer the contractual relationships between our company and software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle. You will be responsible for advising negotiations, reviewing, and renewing agreements, such as Customer Agreements, Partner Agreements, and Licensing Agreements. As a Licensing Specialist, you will play a critical role in overseeing the management of software licenses and technology-related assets within our organization. This will include understanding the usage levels and managing licensing accordingly to obtain economic advantage. US Citizenship is required to apply.
Responsibilities:
Be part of team that negotiates contract terms and conditions with Microsoft representatives and ensure alignment with our business objectives and compliance requirements
Will include supporting software licensing efforts with multiple vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Oracle, and others.
Review and analyze vendor agreements and identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and performance improvement
Provide timely reporting, such as for end-user account use and license consumption, to management and business constituents
Renew agreements before expiration and ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment
Communicate with internal stakeholders and provide guidance on agreements and related policies and procedures
Monitor and report on agreement performance and compliance issues and escalate as needed
Collaborate with vendors and other external parties to resolve contract disputes and claims
Build and manage complex licensing models to optimize license usage based on key drivers (e.g., headcount, volume).
Analyze and recommend improvements to all internal procedures and implement same.
Develop software license management strategies across various functions and business units, collaborating with management and stakeholders.
Conduct and lead software asset reconciliation and audit activities.
Evaluate licensing options and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Manage, track, and order licensing through the designated vendor tools, such as Microsoft Azure Licensing Portal and Microsoft Volume Licensing Center
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in IT related field
US Citizenship is required to apply
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as administering Microsoft agreements
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software
Knowledge of Microsoft products and services, licensing models, and pricing structures
Experience is government service industry and Microsoft GCC High environment is desirable
Familiarity with legal terms and concepts related to Microsoft agreements
