DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. Expedites purchase or production orders as appropriate.

Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
Performs quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
Works with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.
Delivery
Initiates purchase and work orders to support the demand plan.
Participates on allocation calls with Sourcing Manager, supplier, and other Cummins entities to understand nature and impact of constraints.
Works with suppliers to reduce lead time and order quantities balancing supply with demand.
Collaborates with Supply Chain Planners across the organization to reposition excess inventory to locations with supporting demand.
Provides accurate, timely updates specific to inventory availability and back order recovery plans.
Manages part change requests and ramp up / ramp down activities to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Reconciles order boards for critical suppliers, critical parts, and past due orders on a routine basis.
Supports the Deliver Supplier Improvement Process initiative to improve performance metrics.
Documents, communicates, and follows-up on action items impacting the ability to execute the plan.
Takes ownership and accountability for delivery of supplier schedules that supports end Customer needs.
Demonstrates the target level of proficiency in core competencies.
Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

Resolves materials-related issues within the facility with suppliers and internal customers; monitors requests through standard processes; works with appropriate functional resources to understand and ensure proper inventory levels; monitors usage and historical needs to determine any needed changes to inventory.
Coordinates all aspects of material delivery for operations; acts as company representative with Cummins’ suppliers; manages all indirect tier one suppliers; negotiates supplier schedules to match demand; identifies and resolves material procurement issues with suppliers.
Understands metrics related to inventory control; improves inventory by developing reduction strategies; works with suppliers to improve delivery, lower lead times and implement Material Agreements; tracks and measures supplier performance.
Acts as a user or super user of inventory control systems; determines order rules necessary to drive accurate inventory levels; conducts troubleshooting for systems issues; provides input into and drives changes for upgrades and improvements to the system.
Develops part inventory and storage processes; maintains all associated records; maintains related databases.
Makes related freight decisions considering timing and cost effectiveness.
Responsible for cycle count accuracy for all parts; meets threshold to ensure that plant processing is not slowed or stopped due to parts or supplies shortages.
Actively participates in inventory meetings; participates in facility meetings; interfaces and communicates with internal customers; directs people to the appropriate resource; researches solutions and responds to email and phone inquiries. Completes daily reconciliation of purchase orders to invoices in the procurement system; reviews monthly operation supply spend charged to the indirect materials budget; ensures that charges and cross charges are properly applied; creates purchase orders as needed and responds to inquiries regarding purchase order status; sets up new part numbers in the procurement system; works with finance team to identify and correct issues in the procurement system; creates help tickets for users to resolve issues; schedules and presents system training as needed.
Creates and runs reports as needed to coordinate and support responsibilities. Initiates, develops, leads, and participates in improvement procedures; actively participates in self- and team audits and resulting corrective actions.
May develop and conduct training programs.
Works within the team to identify team member weaknesses and gaps to bring the overall performance of the team to a high level of performance.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, uses statistical analysis, collaborative cross-functional intelligence, and validated planning parameter settings to disaggregate the demand plan and determine the optimal inventory levels. Aligns the supply plan with the demand plan and drives stability in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:

Performs quality checks on system planning parameters (min/max inventory level, re-order point, upper/lower tracking signals, segments, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP). Delivery Performs supply and demand analysis, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months. Assists others in gathering and compiling information through primary and secondary research. Runs planning parameter setting changes in the simulation environment to analyze the impact to KPIs, and provides executive and detailed report of results. Monitors signals indicating abnormal demand and/or stock levels feeding the supply schedule. Makes adjustments to the planning parameter settings if approved. Enters approved forecast adjustments at the detail level to align with the aggregate demand plan. Materials Planning System Utilization - Uses the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis; occasionally refers to adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc. in performing problem solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.
Plan for Every Part (PFEP) - Uses PFEP in planning, designing, and management of systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place, which in turn guarantees smooth operations; applies PFEP principles on the end to end supply chain with particular attention to the relationships between master data management, materials planning parameters, engineered material flows, transport management, and warehouse management.
Inventory Management and Optimization - Uses analytics and algorithms to determine the optimal level of inventory investment across the end-to-end supply chain within specific constraints (warehouse space, customer delivery, etc.); provides guidance and expertise on planning parameter refinement; develops inventory strategies to support Cummins' strategy and not just a business unit strategy.
Materials KPI Management - Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.
Network Master Supply Planning - Uses statistical analysis and collaborates with other disciplines to provide a long term view of customers demand, and ensures the supply plan is aligned with the demand plan; balances supply and demand in a manner that achieves the financial and service objectives, while stabilizing the supply chain and optimizing the supply chain tensions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Ability to use Excel or other analytical tools. Oracle or supply chain system experience preferred.
Experience:
Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
Four year experience/education requirement accomplished through one of the following: Bachelors degree, associates degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or at least four years of relevant experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Internal materials mover for CTC. This includes movement of all items within the building to various location as well as preparation of work orders set for next day local site moves.
Additional driver for box truck (requirements must be met through OJT) and default pick-up driver to alleviate the increased demand of work orders. This will included travel between sites.
Support for local driver preparation of packages.
Point of contact to assist Safety (barrel movement).
Be able to use the Labs Work Order System and OneMove to complete all work orders.
Must be comfortable in daily interactions with customers and communicate in a professional manner while solving any issues that may arise.
Any additional request that are needed to get any S&R job done.
