About Our Apprentice Program:

The Crossland Apprenticeship program is a 2 year program that consists of full time employment while gaining valuable on the job training. We have one of the largest education programs in the region and provide employees with opportunities to grow. The program follows NCCER national recognized curriculum and sets employees on the right path for a successful careers! Upon completion of the program, you will be a certified Journeyman by the US Department of Labor.

This position can be physically demanding and candidates must be able to work outdoors, at heights and travel as needed. Drug screen, physical and criminal background check is required of successful candidates.

EssentialResponsibilities:

Performs any combination of the following duties on construction projects, usually working in a utility capacity and by transferring from one task to another. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders
  • Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepares layout, using rule, framing square and calipers.
  • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk and marking gauge
  • Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenters level
  • Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring
  • Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work
  • May remove and replace sections of structures prior to and after installation of insulating material.
