Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, improvement, and support of new and existing processes in their area of focus.

Job Functions / Responsibilities: Creates efficient test practices that adheres to a dynamic development environment. Recommends and implements improved testing strategies, hardware design upgrades, and orchestrates software upgrades. Develops and Maintains area Standard Work and provides technical guidance to shop personnel. Maintains and Documents Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the test area. Analyzes and interprets test results and works with cross functional team to develop required improvements. Works with production associates to maintain a high level of up-time from test equipment and leads efforts to solve problems to improve First Time Yield. Supports design of new test fixtures and protocols for new engine products. Schedules, analyzes, and reports compliance testing ensuring performance to design. Provides technical guidance in support of Engine Diagnostics and Test Cell required maintenance.

Qualifications and skills: BS degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering required (computer or electrical preferred). At least one (1) - two (2) years of Automotive Manufacturing Experience required. Two (2) to three (3) years' experience with engine testing hardware and software desired. Demonstrated knowledge of combustion engine maintenance, design, and test required. Understanding of software, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems required. Understanding of instrumentation techniques for test systems (temperature, flow, torque, and pressure sensors). Requires project management skills. Ability to write VBA macros or scripts for programming test cells required. Technical writing skills desired. Design / drafting utilizing 3-D CAD solid modeling tools (Pro/Engineer preferred) a plus. A desire to engage in hands-on work when assisting in installation or diagnoses of test equipment required.
