ABB Inc Quality Engineer - US91087285_E2 / Columbus, MS in Columbus, Mississippi

This Position is for a Quality Engineer with a work location in Columbus, MS.

This position reports to: Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams

Manages the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues

Manages internal quality systems (receiving inspection, scrap analysis, gage control, etc.) for assigned department

Manages the overall quality system and ensure retention of our ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification

Sets and leads the quality strategy for the facility

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing facility

ISO experience

Previous experience in customer support, service or client facing roles and previous knowledge or experience with electrical testing procedures

The ideal candidate should have at least a basic knowledge of the following principles and should be able to elaborate the concepts: lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

Data analysis/trending experience such as Minitab

Ability to work in team and great communication skills and diplomacy to deal with customers

Strong quality systems/process experience and ability to work individually or within a team or large groups as required
