Project Coordinator:

Mears is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator with experience in the construction industry. This position is based on a project in Columbus, Nebraska . The project coordinator will work within all aspects of the operations group to establish, update and track resource and cost-loaded project schedules. Valuable experience would include Cost Control, Budgeting, Estimating, Planning, Forecasting, and Reporting Status Progress and Performance. The position will be within our Projects Division and possibly require temporary relocation to the project site with periodic travel home. Typical tasks will range in volume and complexity. The position will report directly to the Director of operations.

What You Offer Us:

  • Provide support in the management of the project schedule, and cost control functions including budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and earned value management.

  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft project scheduling software to include the ability to construct detailed cost/resource-loaded schedules.

  • Perform detailed cost analysis to assist the Project Managers and Superintendents in making informed decisions.

  • Manage on-site equipment schedule for the project to include, but not limited to, ensuring equipment inspection sheets are completed by field personnel and submitted weekly, pre-trip checklists are completed, and equipment timesheets are completed and submitted weekly. Duties will also include calling for equipment and calling equipment off rent at the direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent.

  • Complete weekly project management report.

  • Ability to work within Mears's internal business process.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Require temporary relocation to the project site with periodic travel home.

  • Assisting in the implementation of project controls technology.

  • All other duties as assigned.

What is Required?

  • Ability to apply basic project management concepts, and methodologies.

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Powerpoint.

  • Proficient in Primavera P6 or Microsoft to create detailed cost/resource-loaded schedules.

  • Proficient in financial practices, organization systems, and principles.

  • Work with AHJ on licensing and permitting as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 2-4 years of industry experience required.

  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

  • Pass Pre-Employment drug screen and background check.
