Actalent Lab Technician in Columbus, Nebraska

Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

Maintains on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer daily. Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies. Continually compares equipment readouts with samples of standards as required to ensure that all systems are operating accurately. Always maintains a neat and clean working area, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas. Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees. Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements. Awareness and adherence to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.

Hard Skills

  • Moisture testing

  • Density testing

  • Viscosity testing

  • Basic chemistry as outlined by SOPs

  • Prepare process and finished product samples

  • Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures

  • Record results using computerized data systems

  • Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant

  • Maintain samples of tested product to confirm test results, if necessary

  • Document results of all testing procedures and notify operations of required adjustments

  • Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

  • Understand most production processes required in the production of product and may make recommendations to operators in order to achieve product quality

  • Perform light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 480 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Nebraska.

Work Environment

Swing shifts, 3 days on 2 off, 2 on 3 off, then rotate to nights with the same schedule. 22.93/hr during training (2-3 weeks long), 25.08/hr when they get on the swing shifts schedule. 12 hour shifts 7am-7pm. Will be on your feet for the entire shift with a 30 min lunch break, 50lbs lift occasionally.
