Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Biostatistician II in Columbus, Ohio

Responsible for managing all statistical aspects of research studies, including assistance in developing grant applications and research protocols, performing complex statistical analyses including with large national datasets, preparation of statistical reports including tables and figures, and writing Methods and Results sections of manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications, and mentorship of early career investigators and students. Advise investigators on issues of study design and statistical analysis. Author statistical analysis plans. Perform complex statistical analyses, including with large national datasets. Manage data and statistical analyses for multiple research projects. Support development of grant applications and research protocols. Perform sample size/power calculations. Manage research databases. Prepare datasets for data analyses. Prepare and deliver statistical reports regarding interim and final study analyses. Contribute to the interpretation and publication of research results. Mentor early career investigators and students about conducting statistical analyses and interpretation and presentation of findings for reports, scientific conferences, manuscripts, and/or grant applications. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health (with Biostatistics major), plus 3 years of experience managing datasets and conducting complex statistical analyses, such as modeling, using sophisticated statistical software packages; 2 years experience mentoring early career investigators and students about conducting statistical analyses and research; excellent knowledge of modeling and other advanced statistical techniques; familiarity with large injury databases, such as NEISS, NPDS, KID and other HCUP databases preferred; and excellent working knowledge of SAS and SPSS. Telecommuting optional - may work from any location in Ohio.
