Responsibilities * Collaborates in planning curriculum based upon knowledge of child development and observations to provide an optimal and safe environment for young children. * Provides a welcoming environment for children and parents and collaborates in arranging and conducting parent/teacher conferences. * Supervises and delegates classroom responsibilities to part-time assistant teachers, volunteers, and student teachers. Maintains cleanliness and order in the classroom. * Provides supervision that ensures children are constantly attended by Center staff. Monitors children in the group and reports any unusual symptoms to parents or administrator. * Maintains all required records including attendance, meal counts, conference reports, and prepares other required classroom records. * Assists the development and educational growth of the Center by utilizing and maintaining Center materials and resources and participating in community workshops. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent coursework with a focus in Early Childhood, preferred. Certification: Two-year certification in early child development, or CDA credential, preferred. Skills: Working knowledge of State Licensing regulations, SUTQ, and Center policies. Excellent communication skills. Ability to supervise and provide direction for part-time assistant teachers, students, and volunteers. Experience: Experience in an early childhood education program, preferred.
