The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and promotion of the organization's business ethics policies. This role requires monitoring adherence to the organization's standards of conduct, fostering ethical relationships with stakeholders, and investigating allegations of unethical behavior. The specialist will contribute to the development of safeguards to prevent future breaches of ethics policies. Key Responsibilities Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in the creation and refinement of business ethics policies and procedures. Support the implementation of compliance programs and initiatives across the organization. Promote awareness and understanding of ethics policies through training and communication efforts. Monitoring and Reporting: Assist with monitoring and assessing the organization's compliance with ethics standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present reports on compliance activities and identified risks to senior management. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and investigations. Investigation and Resolution: Assist in conducting initial investigations into allegations of unethical conduct, gathering and analyzing relevant information. Collaborate with more senior compliance team members to develop corrective actions and prevent recurrence of issues. Document findings and recommend solutions to enhance compliance and ethical practices. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote our culture of integrity and ethical behavior. Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance on ethical issues and compliance concerns. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, Law, Ethics, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in compliance, ethics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with compliance monitoring and investigations is preferred. HCCA or SCCE Certification preferred. Skills and Knowledge: Full understanding and application of compliance principles, theories, and concepts. Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. Problem-Solving: Ability to provide resolutions to a variety of problems within defined practices and procedures. Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills in handling projects with short-term focus. Other Requirements: Ability to work under moderate guidance and supervision. Familiarity with relevant compliance and regulatory frameworks is an asset.
