HNTB CORPORATION Engineer II in Columbus, Ohio

Duties:  Apply cutting edge technologies to solve mobility challenges such as connected and automated vehicles (CV and AV), smart mobility, electric vehicles (EV), advanced air mobility (AAM), and data analysis. Responsible for the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.  Develop project quantities and cost estimates.  Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.               Support engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.  Research and report on upcoming technology advancements related to emerging mobility including ITS, connected and automated vehicles, shared mobility, electric vehicles.  Assist project manager or senior engineer with task production including systems engineering related reports and plans based on project analyses and assessment.  Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks such as the collection of field data, data analysis, and prepare studies to support decisions on transportation systems, policies, and standards.  Support the preparation of EVs and AAM deployment strategies including communication and power design, reports, and plans for transportation projects.  Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.  Coordinate with clients and build effective client relationships.  Perform other duties as assigned.  No hire / fire authority.

Requirements:  Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field plus a minimum of one year of related experience.  Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Must have experience in transportation engineering, planning, or related field.  Must have experience in CV, AV, EV, or AAM solutions.  Must have experience with programming languages R, SQL, or Python.  Must have experience utilizing CADD software including MicroStation or AutoCAD.  Must have experience with GIS Software, including ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap or QGIS.  Must have experience utilizing data analytics and visualization tools/dashboards, including Power BI or Tableau.  Must have experience with AWS cloud computing service.  National travel required up to 5%.
