The GMP Operations Technician 1 plays a crucial role in supporting all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and production operations. This position involves working collaboratively with the Manager of GMP Operations and staff to provide hands-on assistance for daily GMP & Viral Vector Core production operations. Responsibilities include executing production processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring the maintenance of facilities and equipment. The Technician will also support production efforts to deliver products in a timely, compliant, and fiscally responsible manner by adhering to practices, batch records, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing biological products. Additional duties involve supporting GMP resources and supply chain by ordering and maintaining material inventory, participating in daily operational activities, ensuring the availability of materials with proper documentation, working closely with management for continuous improvement, and operating and maintaining facility equipment as specified in SOPs.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Ohio.

Work Environment

The work environment is team-oriented and diverse, continually growing. The role requires being on feet most of the day and gowning up for cleanroom activities. The dress code includes casual lab attire such as closed-toed shoes, socks covering ankles, khaki pants or jeans with no holes, and shirts without large graphics. The standard shift is Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5:30 PM with a four-day workweek (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and flexibility to adjust shift times when needed.
