Liberty Mutual Technology Group Inc. Lead, IT Apps & Ops Support in Columbus, Ohio

Duties:                    

  • Manages a team of IT Applications & Operations Support Specialists conducting operational support and analysis in order to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
  • Responsible for design, troubleshooting and development of software products along with mentoring and leading a team of engineers.
  • Provide required oversight & governance to engineering team members troubleshooting next-generation Digital products for company and customers.
  • Guide low level troubleshooting of deep systems design of digital products and helps develop processes and best practices.
  • Write processes & establish support frameworks and guidelines for clean, well-thought out design and code with a focus on quality, simplicity, & maintainability of Digital Product.
  • Consider the customer's perspective and experiences when designing systems and work on providing superior customer experience for State auto's digital assets.
  • Closely work with Enterprise Architects and evolve the overall design of the systems.
  • Communicate effectively and partner well with other disciplines of the product team to deliver high quality solutions from envisioning to deployment to Digital asset's availability.
  • Drive, coach and mentor other software engineer through design reviews, troubleshooting, and test case reviews.
  • Responsible for understanding and adapting to new technologies, tools, methods and processes across Cloud & Mobile platforms, solutions.
  • Help to drive current and future state Architecture for the digital products in scope.
  • Think long term, and provide technology evaluation and recommendation for application architecture problems across the company.
  • Create and adopt Technology Patterns and Practices for digital products from the Industry.
  • Work to provide better Architectural standards as needed for Digital products by working with Enterprise architecture team.
  • Drive Architectural consolidation and simplification aligning to the overall system design.
  • Evaluate current services and drive performance, availability and supportability improvements across environments.
  • Spend time with User experience designers, Product owner and Digital Capability Owner in reviewing the prioritized backlog and aligning them to the overall tech.
  • Design for upcoming Sprints.
  • Work collaboratively with the other Capability teams such as Infrastructure, Security and Devops to drive the digital product's capability.
  • Develop processes, tools, and A/B testing constructs to monitor and analyze performance.

Telecommuting permitted up to 100%

Requirements:  The position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field plus eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Position also requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:

Business operations, IT concepts, strategies and methodologies; ITIL v4, Software development on Premises and Cloud like AWS and Microsoft azure;

Systems, project planning methodologies, tools and IT standards and guidelines; Agile, SDLC, Scrum and Kanban including Surepath Guidewire implementation approach.

Analyzing business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, infrastructure design, and technology selection decisions to assist with designing and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness;

Enterprise application integration, Business intelligence/decision support system, and Enterprise data design and management;

Defining functional and technical requirements;

Systems and vendor selection;
