Scheduling Coordinator Surgery Center Requisition ID 2024-53414 Category Administrative/Clerical Overview Scheduling Coordinator - Surgery Center The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical support to multiple surgeons in the Pediatric Surgery Clinic. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, diagnostic studies and clinic visits with providers. Schedule: (Full time, Benefits Eligible), Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, No holiday or weekends. Location: Central Campus 700 Children's Dr Columbus, Ohio 43205 Why Nationwide Children's Hospital? Responsibilities Performs weekly follow-up phone call list for nurses and returns emails, voicemails, and EPIC messages in a timely manner. Triages main clinic hotline and WorkQue line Coordinates with the Ronald McDonald House and Welcome Center on family stays Gathers all necessary information for prior authorization process Communicates with surgeons and APNs to ensure proper procedures are in Epic and maintains open communication between all members of the patient care team. Schedules procedure in OP time or directly with OR scheduling staff. Schedules radiology tests and appointments. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Education: High school graduate or equivalent Experience: Preferred: experience medical setting, Patient Registration, Scheduling, Excellent Customer Service, Medical Terminology Two years previous secretarial experience in the medical office setting; surgical scheduling experience preferred along with medical terminolog Valid Ohio Driver's License with proof of auto insurance required. Knowledge in PC Operation, Outlook, Word and Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and able to multitask Ability to learn and use OpTime, Microsoft Outlook and Epic The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
