CTL Engineering is hiring a Senior Geotechnical Engineer! We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry. We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (P.E. required) who will play a key role in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients and overseeing the technical aspects, and completion, of these projects. You'll leverage your expertise and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and project teams to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions. From initial concept development to final execution, this role will guide projects through every stage of the land profile evaluation process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results. Highlights: Interesting projects ranging from infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and "one-off"/unique engineering. Projects are primarily located in Central Ohio but this role will be responsible for overseeing Geotechnical projects across the state of Ohio. Most project site visits can be completed with a day trip but an occasional overnight stay may be required, although this is uncommon. A company vehicle can be provided or reimbursement for personal vehicle use. This role will be based out of our current office in west Columbus (Fisher Road) but will be moving to our new Corporate office in New Albany @ early 2025. Responsibilities: Performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided Performing geotechnical explorations and investigations, soils/materials testing, maintenance of lab quality. Interacting with clients to create new business by providing quality customer service and responsiveness, assist in planning and execution of subsurface investigation programs, locating test-boring inspections in the field and utility coordination, development of design and analysis of earth embankments, earth-retaining structures, anchoring systems, deep foundations, slope stability analysis and foundations, etc. Reviewing drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Preparing proposals and cost estimates, tracking and evaluating project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. Researching and resolving design and construction problems. Assigning, reviewing, and evaluating laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Mentoring/training lesser-experienced Engineers and technicians. Applying sound engineering principles and being able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Self-motivated, reliable, quality-minded and detail-oriented. Experience with common Geotechnical software.
