SSOE is looking to hire an Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world's leading companies. Responsibilities Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection. Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations. Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods. May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team. May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline. May take part in client contact and business development activities. Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction. May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates. Performs design work with REVIT. Develops engineering concepts and presentations. Coordinates work with other disciplines. Keeps current on new design methods and ideas. Travel required. Valid driver's license required. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required. PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus two (2) or more years of experience with SSOE as an Engineer 3 or the same educational, certification, and registration requirements as above with five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required. Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems. Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience working on Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus. Good communication skills. Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
