Job Information
Intel Senior Neuromorphic Processor Design Engineer in Columbus, Ohio
Job Description
Neuromorphic computing takes inspiration from biological systems to realize vastly more efficient and adaptable AI than what is possible with today's conventional computing architectures. At the hardware level, gains are achieved by applying neuro-inspired principles such as asynchronous event-based operation, integration of memory and compute, and massive parallelism. Intel's Loihi series of neuromorphic processors have advanced the frontier of application research with over 100 peer-reviewed publications from a Loihi developer community comprising over 250 research groups worldwide. These results confirm the promise of the technology to bring breakthroughs in energy efficiency and performance to AI tasks spanning perception, planning, learning, and control from the edge to the data center.
As a Senior Neuromorphic Processor Design Engineer, your primary responsibilities include:
Define the microarchitecture and implement designs for Intel’s next-generation neuromorphic cores, chiplets, and IP.
Utilize standard RTL languages like Verilog, and be open to learning proprietary languages used for asynchronous design.
Collaborate with a small, elite team of design, verification, and EDA engineers who contribute across all levels of silicon engineering and have pioneered asynchronous and neuromorphic design.
Work with an interdisciplinary team of system and software architects, AI framework developers, application engineers, and algorithms researchers to advance Intel’s neuromorphic technology from the lab to a wide range of commercial products.
Rapidly learn new design skills and computing concepts due to the novel properties of neuromorphic computing. A passion for innovation and a strong eagerness to learn are essential for success in this role.
