Title: Sr. Manager - Environmental Compliance Remote Role Key Responsibilities Lead the development and ongoing management of new product onboarding, Safety Data Sheet, and hazardous waste and materials classification processes for the enterprise. Partner with BU master data teams and compliance functions to ensure that hazardous materials classification data is available and being utilized as required to maintain compliance. Responsible for developing and managing Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Transportation program SOPs, training courses, and process improvement initiatives. Manage hazardous waste disposal vendor service level agreement performance, problem resolution, process improvements, generator status needs and waste minimization strategies. Develop and administer strategies, in collaboration with business partners, operations, and customers to ensure Hazardous Materials are stored, handled, and transported safely in compliance with 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG regulations. Serve as the enterprise SME for hazardous waste (EPA/states), hazardous materials shipping (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG) & storage (NFPA, IFC) regulatory classifications. Serve as the main point of contact for new business and vendor EH&S certifications. Ensure air and water pollution prevention compliance plans and related permitting is properly completed, and appropriate tracking mechanisms are in place. Manage EPA and state level hazardous materials and spill control planning and reporting (Biennial Reporting, HMBP, Tier II, SPCC.) Lead the Corporate Environmental Compliance Steering Team. Develop key metrics and analytics to demonstrate effectiveness and compliance with environmental programs and regulations. Lead development of environmental compliance audit criteria. Manage regulatory inspections and enforcement actions with business partners and legal teams. Stay abreast of appliable state, federal hazardous waste and hazardous materials transportation regulations and legislation. Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Minimum B.S. degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline preferred. Minimum of 7+ years of environmental compliance and safety experience in a distribution and warehousing environment. Experience developing and managing environmental regulatory compliance programs related to hazardous materials transportation and hazardous waste management. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to gather and critically evaluate information and prepare written documents that clearly and concisely identify the issues presented and their proposed resolutions. Must be well-spoken, must be a self-starter, capable of working either independently or as part of a team. Must have demonstrated experience in EHS program management and communication initiatives. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
