TriMas Corporation Sales Engineer in Commerce, California

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Sales Engineer that will be working remotely and traveling to our different customers. Primary liaison between customer, engineering, manufacturing, finance and quality departments to address customer related needs including but not limited to quotations, orders and general questions.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Supports sales function in the processing of quotations and proposals

Handles incoming requests for order status including expedite requests through coordination with Engineering, Operations,

Planning, Quality and Purchasing as well as drives regular customer updates where required.

Proactively manages on time delivery through close internal coordination and communicates status inclusive of recovery date information if applicable.

Fields general customer inquiries and conducts internal research to respond in a timely manner.

Builds and maintains strong positive relationships with customers and assures customer satisfaction by resolution of customer related issues as well as supporting in person meetings.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one on one and in small groups with customers and employees.

Customer Focus: Proven track record of understanding and meeting customer requirements in the aerospace industry.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Problem-solving Abilities: Ability to identify and solve technical issues promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality.

Project Management: Experience managing projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of aerospace industry regulations and standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations) to ensure compliance in product development and manufacturing.

Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineering, production, quality, and sales teams.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret technical data, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactive approach to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in product engineering and manufacturing.

Customer Relationship Management: Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing customer requirements and industry trends.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in product specifications, documentation, and quality control processes.

The salary range for this position is $80K to $105K.
