Contract Duration: 12 Months

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure design to support high volume, multi-tier applications.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.

  • Recent and demonstrated ability to influence management on technical or business solutions.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers.

  • Working knowledge/experience with cloud computing concepts like Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), landing zone, Identity and Access Management (IAM), App Service Environment, Blueprints, Control Plane, Azure Arc and Google Anthos etc.

  • Experience in partnering with developers and architects from other teams to build solutions and resolve system and business problems.

  • Experience in leading / facilitating analysis of current systems and problem identification and resolution.

  • Ability to lead / facilitate technically complex discussions and working sessions in person or via teleconference.

  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps concepts and SRE principles.

  • Understanding of Database technologies such as Oracle, PostGres, MSSQL.

  • Experience of large data sets Database, File Systems, and Object Storage.

  • Experience in managing deployments on PCF/TAS, and Linux VMs.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with configuring and supporting application server software such as Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, MQ, etc.

  • Experience with Harness.io and/or Ansible.

  • Experience with Streaming and event driven systems like Kafka and Flink.

  • Experience with designing and implementing High Availability Database Configurations (Cassandra/MongoDB etc.).

  • Understanding of Agile practices and ability to work with Agile teams to define and track user stories.

  • Working knowledge of SSO solutions such as SAML, PingFederate.

  • Experience with designing and implementing complex Load Balancer Technologies such as F5 and AVI.

  • Experience developing microservices and scripts in Java and Python.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead teams within Digital and Innovation Technology and across the enterprise in researching and proposing highly available, resilient and fault tolerant infrastructure solutions

  • Collaborate and work very closely with the engineering strategy, platform engineering and development teams to understand the infrastructure requirements and drive all aspects of application journey to the cloud platform

  • Lead and design the platform and infrastructure architecture for 12-factor cloud ready applications as well as large monoliths as they go through transformation and modernization to be cloud-ready

  • Research industry best practices, evaluate modern technologies, develop standards and engineering best practices and recommend innovative solutions that support automation and improve platform resiliency and fault tolerance of critical applications

  • Define and drive roadmaps that align with technology and business strategy.

  • Perform hardware and capacity planning, analysis, and forecasts for your portfolio of applications with focus on highest availability, scalability, performance, and timely delivery

  • Responsible for providing in-depth technical systems leadership, consultation, and execution to with partner tech teams and leadership to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture

  • Act as an expert resource for other technical teams within Digital Technology.
