Robert Half Staff Accountant in Concord, Massachusetts

Description

We are offering a consultative employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Burlington, Massachusetts. This role is integral to our team, with a focus on managing a full cycle accounting and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full cycle of expenses, including approvals, coding, and payment processing.

• Manage accounts payable and accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

• Handle customer reimbursable expenses, tracking appropriately and generating invoices.

• Assist with cash management by recording daily cash activity.

• Calculate and file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax.

• Participate in the month-end close process including the analysis of various balance sheet accounts, preparation of supporting reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies.

• Generate financial reports to meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual reporting requirements.

• Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules for the annual external audit and interface with the audit team regarding inquiries.

• Provide general support for the organization by answering accounting and financial questions through research and data interpretation.

• Support Finance leadership with the preparation of various financial analysis, metrics, and presentations.

• Cross-train and provide support for other team members, taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledgeable in maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Experienced in creating and posting Journal Entries

• Competent in conducting Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software for accounting tasks

• Able to manage Accruals effectively

• Proficient in Financial Reporting and Cash Management

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus
