$27.04 - $50.51 hourly

Schedule: Monday through Friday

6:30am - 2:30pm

This position also receives Hazardous Duty Pay of $60, which is paid biweekly.

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Rehabilitative Services has a full-time vacancy for an Automotive Instructor - Professor series.

Summary:

Performs all the professional duties of an instructor of educationally disabled and/or educationally disadvantaged students in the Career and Technical Education Center- Corrections Special School District (CSSD) setting to both male and/or female offenders at other correctional facilities and administers, directly and indirectly, the rules and operational routines necessary for maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment while working in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis. Ensures education program and policy requirements are met for offenders as determined through departmental, state and federal guidelines.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TI/COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR:

Education:Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in a subject area related to career and technical education, adult education, occupational studies or Auto Mechanics.

Experience:Three years' experience in teaching, business or industry in the field of Auto Mechanics.

OR

Education:Associate's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in a subject area related to career and technical education, adult education, occupational studies or Auto Mechanics.

Experience:Five years' experience in teaching, business or industry in the field of Auto Mechanics.

OR

Education:Twenty-five Professional Credits. Applicants will be evaluated by the Technical Institute if they use this qualification method.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be appropriately endorsed by the NH Department of Education (DOE), Bureau of Credentialing as a qualified educator in #1703 Auto Mechanics. DOE Statement of Eligibility and Alternative plans as approved by the DOE Bureau of Credentialing may be substituted for initial certification requirement in the interim with the expectation of achieving certification as a qualified educator.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Successful completion of the Corrections Academy and continuing Certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority. Initial appointment to a specific academic rank shall constitute assignment to the individual of at least the minimum number of professional credits required for appointment to that rank. Additional credits gained subsequent to appointment shall be added to the initial appointment base.

TI/COLLEGE ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Education:Master's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in a subject area related to career and technical education, adult education, occupational studies or Auto Mechanics.

Experience:Three years' experience in teaching, business or industry in the field of Auto Mecha ics.

OR

Education:Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in a subject related to career and technical education, adult education, occupational studies or Auto Mechanics.

Experience:Four years' experience in teaching, business or industry in the field of Auto Mechanics.

OR

Education:Thirty-five Professional Credits. Applicants will be evaluated by the Technical Institute if they use this qualification method.
