The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Personnel and Information has a full-time vacancy for a Human Resources Coordinator I located at our NH State Prison for Men.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study preferably in industrial relations, personnel management, or business administration. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three years' experience in professional personnel work at an administrative, supervisory or technical level with experience in one or more of the following: job classification, examination, job analysis, personnel administration, labor relations, recruitment or related experience. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: Eligibility for a New Hampshire driver's license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All applications for this class shall be certified by the Director of Personnel.

SCOPE OF WORK: To coordinate and monitor the NHSP-Mens personnel management activities including implementing agency personnel programs and resolving staffing or other personnel management issues.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Implements daily human resources functions in a variety of areas, including recruitment and retention, staff development and employee relations.

Coordinates with headquarters the hiring and orientation of new employees and acquaints staff with State Personnel and departmental regulations and procedures.

Ensures that all NHSP-Men personnel have their work performance evaluated at lease once a year.

Coordinates all aspects of human resources program, including explaining and enforcing personnel rules, collective bargaining provisions and departmental policies and advises employees on promotional and transfer possibilities.

Maintains active recruitment program as liaison with the NH Department of Corrections Human Resources Administrator or designee and facilitates the coordination of promotional boards and any scheduled testing.

Establishes methods at the institution to ensure procedures are in place to achieve compliance with departmental policies and notifies DOC Headquarters of changes.

Acts as an advisor to supervisors and management regarding employee disciplinary action, return to work and temporary assignments.

Acts as the Workers Compensation agent for the facility to ensure employee injury claims are submitted timely and monitors related employees absences and return to work.
