WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Investment Analyst role is a three-year program designed to give professionals at the beginning of their career exposure to the many facets of endowment management and investing. After three years in the program, analysts will be prepared to pursue numerous career avenues including graduate business school, continuing their careers in asset management, or transitioning to buy-side investment firms, including hedge funds and private equity firms. The Investment Analyst is a member of TNC's Office of Investments (OOI) team.
The Office of Investments' mission is to support the funding of The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) global conservation priorities by increasing the organization's purchasing power through prudent and sustainable investment management. The OOI, under the leadership of TNC's Chief Investment Officer (CIO), works on all aspects of the management and monitoring of the endowment and other long-term pools of capital in excess of $4B. You will be part of a collegial 15-person team and gain valuable experience in endowment management.
The Investment Analyst will work with other members of the Office of Investments to assist in the screening, evaluation, and due diligence of potential investment opportunities as well as the monitoring of the Endowment's multi-billion-dollar portfolio of external investment managers. Duties will include analyzing investment managers' philosophies, processes, and performance. The position provides the opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to public and private investment strategies and institutional portfolio management. In addition, the Investment Analyst will support and perform various operational responsibilities with oversight from the Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives and Chief Operating Officer of The Office of Investments. The Investment Analyst will report directly to the Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Participate in sourcing new managers by performing database screens, reviewing materials from prospective managers, and interfacing with market intermediaries.
- Assist with investment due diligence by participating in calls and meetings and performing qualitative and quantitative research on managers.
- Assist in preparation of investment recommendations for presentation to the Investment C mmittee.
- Review managers investment reports and letters and proactively monitor markets for potential portfolio or manager implications.
- Contribute to execution of foundational operational processes related to new/additional investments, portfolio reconciliation, data collection, reporting, and others.
- Provide project management support and prepare OOI communication materials, in collaboration with the Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives, to be shared with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate alignment of portfolio with TNC's organizational mission, including the analysis of ESG and Impact investments.
- Attend relevant annual meetings and/or industry conferences, travel as needed.
- Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
- Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Science, Engineering or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
- Exposure to investment principles and strategies.
- Experience being a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience being detail-orientated and dedicated to high-quality work product.
- Experience with writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Affinity for The Nature's Conservancy's mission in supporting global land and water conservation efforts.
- Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
