Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To over-see the daily operations of assigned Molding machine(s).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant safety and 5S standards are met.

  • Direct the work of molding operators, both full time and temporary.

  • Train and support Molding team members and provide performance feedback.

  • Monitor and report time, attendance, and overall performance of operators working in molding department and report to Molding Supervisor and/or Manager.

  • Communication of production needs to operators working in molding department.

  • Ensure labels and skid tickets match count of components.

  • Inspection of ‘First Piece’ finished product for quality assurance.

  • Verification of BOM (Bills of Materials) for each all presses and molding assembly cells.

  • Ensure all processes are meeting standard (labor, cycle time).

  • Assist with Daily Reconcile of labor efficiency.

  • Process non-conforming and excess materials in a timely manner.

  • Attend daily production meetings for schedule review.

  • Assist with daily production reporting.

  • Assist recording new or rework production daily.

  • Contact maintenance or tooling for repairs on equipment or molds.

  • Assist with and ensure daily housekeeping is completed within molding department.

  • Train as supervisor back up.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One year of manufacturing experience

  • Lead and/or supervisory experience

PREFERRED:

  • Molding operator experience

  • People management/lead experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently

  • MS Office and AS400 experience

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

Working conditions:

Position is located at our Cookeville, TN manufacturing facility. This facility is heated and cooled. Employee will be working with and near moving mechanical parts. This position is a 12-hour shift position.

Physical requirements:

Candidate must be able to identify and distinguish colors, stand for long periods of time, lift/carry up to 35 lbs., reach hands and arms in any directions and kneel/stoop repeatedly Frequent use of drill drivers is required in Assembly process. A drug screen is required prior to employment. A physical may also be required as employment terms.
