Mechanical Engineers at Lutron participate within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative, high-quality consumer products and services for commercial and residential use.

There are a variety of concepts throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as:

  • Heat transfer, thermodynamics, and thermal management principles
  • Materials selection and materials science, particularly thermoplastics
  • Design and analysis for static and dynamic use cases
  • Injection molding and related design best practices for high-volume manufacturability
  • Pneumatics in manufacturing applications Responsibilities

  • Design of mechanical parts, including stress analysis, worst-case design, tolerance analysis, testing, and review

  • Construction of prototypes, theoretical models, and simulations
  • Frequent collaboration with RF, electrical, and manufacturing engineers
  • Qualification for internal, domestic, and international safety and standards
  • Design for high-volume manufacturing, testing, and assembly, including development of tooling and testers Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Science

  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
  • 0-3 years experience in a related field
  • Willingness to travel 5-10% of the time for inter-office collaboration, site visits, etc.
