SUPERVISION

• May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Facilities, Utilities and Engineering staff.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 6 – 8 years’ related experience.

• 3+ years’ experience as a Manager preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to manage one or more departments.

• Working knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, regulations and guidelines.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business

community.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong presentation skills

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid

geometry and trigonometry.

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several

abstract and concrete variables.

• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of database software, design software, Internet software, inventory software, manufacturing software and Project Management software. Strong in AutoCad

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Directs, manages and oversees all activities of the Utilities, Facilities, Calibration and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Operations. Responsible for Safety, Environmental and Industrial Health Compliance. Directs, manages, and coordinates engineering support, improvement activities and projects for the Campus Facility/Utilities Engineering and EHS Departments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the activities and operations of Utilities, Facilities, Calibrations and EHS departments. Establishes operational

objectives and assures management and adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

• Participates with other senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives. Develops strategies for direct departments, and contributes to the development of divisional/business unit strategies.

• Participates in annual FY Capital Budget development, defines and accepts charters, writes CPA’s, launches and manages projects and closes out jobs with lessons learned review. Creates and participates in regular and formal reviews of capital projects assessing risk to timeline, budget and customer satisfaction.

• Technically proficient in the specific department and knowledge of industry practice and business principles. Provides project management leadership, support, and continuous process improvement in ownership, accountability and governance of critical project efforts to meet challenging project commitments in line with agreed metrics (including scope, schedule, and

cost).

• Maintains professional contact and oversight of external suppliers, vendors and regulatory agencies. Develops or revises standard operating procedures and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards. Ensures documented training records of personnel performing process functions.

• Reviews production and operating reports, resolves operation, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs to prevent operational delays.

• Formulates general environmental health and safety policies and procedures to be followed by plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and EPA rules and regulations.

• Develops and oversees programs for employees in areas such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.

• Directs incident and injury reports for full compliance with OSHA regulations.

• Represents the company during various EHS audits.

• Develops, improves and supports Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the engineering and operational efficiency of all

utilities and ensures compliance with all standards, regulations and laws.

• Ensure all employees within the assigned team(s) understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining effective internal systems and controls to promote compliance

• Directs environmental emission reports to fully comply with all Local, State and Federal regulations.

• Directs required wastewater reports to fully comply with all Local, State and Federal regulations.

• Directs sustainability initiatives for the site.

• Directs required Corporate Sustainability reports to fully comply with the Corporate Sustainability office requirements.

• Responsible for directing, maintaining and updating the SPCC & SWPP Plan, DAQ Air Approval Orders, Industrial water

discharge plan, Hazardous waste Permitting and Site Emergency Plan.

• Directs the organization and reporting all green initiative projects for the campus.
