Job Description

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for assisting in various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting for Financial Planning and Analysis. This position will be the centerpiece between the business intelligence data warehouse capability and the finance capability. The primary responsibility will be to create new data models, trending and scenarios to enhance planning and analysis and enable automation of manual processes. This individual will be responsible for building models that provide insight to underlying business dynamics. The incumbent will contribute to the annual budgeting process, the weekly forecast process, standard reporting and other initiatives as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create automated business models and algorithms to enable more predictive financial forecasting

  • Create trend analysis that allows the businesses to be more proactive in decision-making

  • Adapt financial planning to new capabilities in the business intelligence data warehouse to the general finance community

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and business analyses, research, and forecasts including demand forecasting, financial and expense performance, rate of return, working capital and investments optimization, project benefit tracking

  • Build dynamic, automated capabilities as well as data standards for key cycles

  • Partner with other departments in the preparation of analyses and identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line

  • Compile and prepare accurate and timely reports, graphs and charts of data developed; provide insights into the performance of the business

  • Own moderate processes and/or portions of complex processes

  • Participate in special financial and business related studies as needed to support project objectives

  • Partner with Internal Controls to ensure full compliance with internal, external, legal and regulatory standards and requirements; ensure effective control procedures are in place and fully functioning to preclude improprieties from occurring

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of procedures to better understand and identify future needs and challenges

  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years managing billing functions of varying degrees of complexity

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience managing a team of employees producing the financial analysis reporting

  • Minimum of 2 years using Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Excel, Microsoft Suite and modeling skills

  • Exposure to large databases; and proven ability to deliver analytics

  • Some exposure to PeopleSoft Financials or Oracle

  • Exposure to large operating environment; preferably with diverse distribution

  • Experience owning and contributing to processes and/or portions of processes

  • Experience in statistical modeling

  • Knowledgeable of the accepted accounting principles (FASB & GAAP)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Finance or Accounting or MBA
