The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop and implement SCADA and plant control systems for water and wastewater facilities

• Develop control logic based on narrative control descriptions

• Perform testing, startup, and commissioning of control systems

• Coordinate with utility staff, contractors, and other engineering firms

• Provide on-going client support, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Provideguidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies

• Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects

The Team

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Control System Programming Specialist within our Instrumentation, Controls and Automation (ICA) Department supporting the Water market sector. Our ICA team provides instrumentation, control, automation, networking, cybersecurity, and telecommunication services to critical infrastructure projects around the world. This position will be part of our talented and expanding instrumentation, controls and programming team supporting the local sales and execution teams in Southern Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related field preferred

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in PLC, RTU or HMI programming

• Allen-Bradley Logix Platform, Schneider Electric Modicon M580/M340 or similar PLC experience

• AVEVA Wonderware System Platform, Trihedral VTScada, GE iFIX, or similar HMI experience

• Water/Wastewater experience preferred

Minimum Qualifications

Work Environment/Schedule
