CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Compensation directs the development and maintenance of a comprehensive reporting and audit program for the Compensation function at the University, and serves as the primary contact for all Workday related matters pertaining to the Compensation department, to include process improvements and resolution of technical concerns.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops and maintains a comprehensive compensation audit function. Conducts routine audits of Compensation transactions to include merit files, incentive payout files, employees below minimum etc. in order to ensure adherence with all legal regulations and compensation policies governing salary administration and position classification. Follows up on all audit findings, and reports findings and resolution monthly.2. Conducts analyses, to include trend and costing analysis, for a variety of initiatives to assist leadership in the decision making process.3. Serves as Workday HCM Compensation Administrator and analyzes configuration details, rules and business processes within the system; Makes recommendations for continuous process improvement, and leads related projects from start to finish. Reviews and handles all Workday system issues, in partnership with HRIS.4. Works closely with HRIS to upload project files; Audits all project files to ensure accuracy of information and full reconciliation.5. Reviews and approves bonus and incentive plans for staff roles for all University departments/ schools/ colleges/ campuses. Evaluates all forms of supplemental and variable pay programs to ensure payouts are consistent with desired performance outcomes. 6. Reviews and updates Compensation related policies and procedures, in partnership with department leadership and WEP. Maintains the Compensation website to ensure accuracy of information and updates as needed.7. Develops and maintains monthly dashboard/scorecards. Details findings and provides insights in an executive summary monthly, which allow for decision making.8. Attends HRCS/Recruitment team meetings, as well as other department meetings, to communicate information.9. Assists with the development of communications related to Compensation practices and updates and special projects.10. Provides general support to other Compensation staff on system-level projects, day-to-day requests and other initiatives as needed.11. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
