The University of Miami, College of Arts & Sciences, Office of Research Support Services & Administration, has an opportunity available for an individual preferably with research administration or sponsored programs experience and intermediate Excel skills. The Sr. Sponsored Programs Specialist reports to the Director, Sponsored Programs, and is responsible for central College-level sponsored research administration services to a diversified portfolio of 60+ Principal Investigators (PIs) in 21 academic departments and research units across the College and the Lowe Art Museum with a diversified portfolio spanning the sciences, arts, humanities, and social sciences. The incumbent supports sponsored payroll management and contract-award administration from award to close out.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

· Demonstrated experience in payroll and contract management as well as sponsored programs requirement

· Must have a strong understanding of government grants and contracts regulations, sponsor specific guidelines, application forms, compliance requirements, etc.

· In-depth knowledge of University and Federal agency requirements including NIH, ONR, DOD/DARPA, NSF, and DOE as well as state and local government, and OMB Circulars, Export Control Regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations.

· Ability to Work independently and exercise independent judgment and professionalism.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated outstanding customer service skills.

· Demonstrated professional experience and judgment to effectively serve faculty and sponsors.

· Ability to work well under deadline pressures without sacrificing accuracy, customer service, collegiality, or ethics.

· Knowledge of or ability to learn Sponsor and University systems.

· Strong analytic skills.
