To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Coral Gables, Florida area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Key responsibilities

• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

• Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

Requirements

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Bank Account Reconciliation experience

• Deep understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation

• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Experience with ERP systems

Must be Bilingual- English and Spanish
