Join Northrop Grumman Space Systems and be a part of the team that solves some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Business Development Manager 2 to join the Propulsion Systems team. This position will be in Bacchus and Promontory UT.
The new team member will lead business development and strategy for a portfolio of programs relating to Air Force Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) programs within Propulsion Systems. This individual will provide direction on the sustainment and organic growth of existing business development targets/programs as well as developing and leading the future business capture strategy in the Air Force Technology and production markets in support of a diverse set of customer organizations and programs. The successful candidate must possess the ability to develop early win strategies for customer outreach and targeted pursuits within the Air Force propulsion community; devise detailed government relations and legislative advocacy plans; convene multi-functional teams to create mission discriminators through affordable, innovative technology and engineering, enact management strategies and cost strategies that lead to successful capture of new business, and interface with senior management in a concise fashion on a broad array of topics.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Managing task distribution and workflow that support proposals associated with small to large, cross division and sector pursuits for new and follow-on business.
Actively communicate, interface and follow-up with customer community, potential new business organizations, and multiple stakeholders. An ability to independently conduct initial business approach and technical discussions is required.
Translating customer needs into specific requirements, identifying/tailoring company services and solutions into offerings, and managing captures to effectively market the operating unit’s products and capabilities to meet those needs.
Oversight on all aspects of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP) that includes steps to develop and execute growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, establishing pursuit priorities, gaining, and growing customer intimacy, developing successful capture plans, overseeing funding execution.
Assisting capture/proposal managers with proposals and execution.
Participating in key capture pursuits
Basic Qualifications:
3 years of experience within the aerospace community involving government procurement of weapons systems
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience in capture management, business development, project/business/program management or engineering
Ability to conduct independent initial technical and concept discussions with Space Science and Technology community
Must possess a current Secret clearance at the time of applicatio
Preferred Qualifications:
Domain expertise in Science and Technology, Air Force, and Solid rocket motor organizations
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
Understand the DoD & intelligence budgets and marketplace
Working knowledge of U.S. Government procurement policies and regulations
Program management, hardware and/or software engineering skills
2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Salary Range: $119,300 - $178,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
